Russian Readings is a series of seminars and workshops taking place at the world’s leading universities, as well as Russian and East European studies centres, which brings together academics and practitioners interested in current social, urban and political developments in Russia.

Russian Readings was launched in 2018 with flagship seminars at the University of Leeds and at the University of Oxford (organised in partnership with the British Association for Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (BASEES)), covering the issues of media and urban activism.

Russian Readings is supported by the Oxford Russia Fund — a UK charity, established in 2005 with an aim of improving the quality of higher education in Russian Federation. To achieve this the Oxford Russia Fund provides scholarships to students and awards grants to educational establishments.
